After much time spent on this painting, I am finally deciding it is finished :).
This is the Watercolor Painting, which depicts leaves against a greyish background. The motif of the painting is the large yellow/brown leaf on the left, and it is simply watercolor on white paper. I started to understand how to use watercolors to paint, especially in the veins of the leaves, but I have yet to utilize the pastel watercolor effect. The colors of the leaves in my painting, goldenrod, forest green and rusty brown, form a pleasing color palette, which is also seen in the dramatic contrast on the rotting leaves. The watercolor made great shadowing on the big yellow leaf and transitioned nicely on the oak leaf. The general mood evoked in me in this painting is peace, because it is interesting to look at all the little details in nature and how pretty it is.
