This is my Bright Landscape, a watercolor on white paper. It is a painting of a valley with an old brick building in the foreground, in a grass meadow. The new skill I learned was how to not use black in a painting, but instead use colors like dark blue and contrasting colors to create shadow. My main art elements are color, form, and value. These art elements created harmony, balance, and overall light/brightness/liveliness to the painting. The painting, with its bright colors and lush composure, elicits feelings of happiness and excitement in its viewers.
